Record AAH Delivery for Pharmaid

19 December 2005

Van drivers from AAH Pharmaceuticals have collected record numbers of recently outdated copies of the British National Formulary (BNF) for doctors, pharmacists and other health professionals in developing countries in the Commonwealth.

AAH delivered six pallets containing some 5,500 BNFs to the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association (CPA) on 15 December. They will be distributed to countries such as Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka and Uganda as part of the CPA's PharmAid Week

This is AAH's 26th year of collecting for PharmAid Week, and again its customers across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have shown their wholehearted support by providing thousands of copies of the formulary.

"These books contain vital information for healthcare professionals, and will make a huge difference to their ability to treat patients and save lives," said Steve Dunn, group managing director of AAH Pharmaceuticals. "We've found that pharmacists are extremely keen to support their fellow professionals through this collection.

"I'd like to say a big thank-you to all our customers for their support, and to our drivers for collecting the books and delivering them to the CPA."
