Drug-Drug Interaction Checking Module
Potential Patient Safety Issue - Incorrect data contained in November 2008 LINK Evolution ILU Update - Immediate Customer Action Required
AUDIENCE: This Announcement is for all LINK Evolution customers who have installed the November 2008 LINK Evolution ILU Update (V213) on LINK Evolution V9 or below.
THIS ISSUE WILL NOT AFFECT CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE UPGRADED TO LINK EVOLUTION V10.
ANNOUNCEMENT: First DataBank Europe has identified an issue with respect to the November 2008 Multilex Drug Data File made available to AAH as of 7 November 2008 and incorporated into the November ILU Update (V213). This content issue caused the Drug-Drug Interaction Checking Module to generate inappropriate interaction messages or fail to generate interaction messages where appropriate. The data in the November 2008 Multilex Drug Data File has now been corrected and became available to AAH to replace the previously produced file as of 18:00 on 14 November 2008.
CUSTOMER ACTION: AAH has produced a CD that addresses the issue which you should receive in the next few days. On receipt of this CD you should immediately apply the fix by following the enclosed instructions in order to ensure proper function of the Drug-Drug Interaction Checking Module. Until the update CD is received and applied, please make sure that all staff in your pharmacy are aware of this problem and use an alternative method for checking Drug-Drug Interactions.
